Some people are selling the FEG PA-63 as new. Technically speaking, they are not new. The PA-63 models were produced back in the 60’s, maybe even as far back as the early 50’s. According to the claims of one source, my serial number shows my PA-63 to have been built in 1951. I don’t know how accurate this source is but it really doesn’t matter. Hungary developed the FEG PA-63, Poland the P-64 and the P-83 Wanad and Czechoslovakia the vz.82. While similar in operation (straight blowback), and chambered for the same round, these pistols are often found labeled at gun shows by some US gun retailers as ’Polish Makarovs’ and ’Hungarian Makarovs’. The serial number was relocated after being worn off during normal use. It was relocated to an area of the slide that is less susceptible to wear. The PA-63 has redundant numbers so this is a moot point. Then the front strap was re shaped. If someone has a front strap where the numbers are still legible then they can work around that area.

Hi Folks, I’m the happy owner of a PA-63 in 9MM Mak. I’ve read a bunch on this pistol since I bought it last year. I found the web site which described the proof marks fairly well. Now having said the above, My understanding is this model pistol was produced from 1963 on, hence the model name PA-63. I’ve read varying accounts of these being made from the late 1950’s through the 1990’s. My pistol appears to have an acceptance mark from 1958.
Unfortunately the mark appears to be a double strike and only half imprinted. Kinda like maybe the fellow making the mark had too much vodka at lunch. On the Hungariae site the writer mentions some frames were ’rebuilt’ and could have stamps dating to 1947. My frame is too nice to be that old if I am understanding the production of these pistols. My gun is bright framed with a blued slide. Honestly, my gun looks to have never been issued. I’ve tried to take a clear close photo showing the acceptance marks but my crap camera is being uncooperative.

I can try to take better photos later in the week. Thanks in advance.as an owner of 4 of these at present ( one every where I might need one quickly), I can tell you it is almost my favorite pistol. All are wolff spring equipped and totally reliable if it wasn’t for my FEG PJK-9HP browning clone the PA-63 WOULD be my favorite! Now that you mention it, I’d hate to have a frame that was originally an RG-59. I like to shoot my PA-63.Feg Pa 63 Serial Number Lookup Chart
I have owned a RG 59 for quite a few years now and haven’t had a problem as of yet. I check the frame regularly when I shoot and I shoot it a lot. ONLY problem I have with this pistol is the slide cuts the webbing on my hand when fired as I have very large hands. The grip is too short to hold it lower. A problem I’ll have to live with.
Like some others around the site, I have. Total war saga: thrones of britannia download for mac. Software Cardscan Is Already Installed on this page. locating extra mags is almost impossible.
Dgray, I have an FEG PA63 and a CZ-82, both milsurp and both 9mm MAK. I’ve had the PA63 for about 7 years and have fired about 250 rounds through it. I have found it to be very reliable, feeds ANY ammo that I have fed it and the accuracy is outstanding for a short barreled pistol.
Yes the trigger pull in DA is a bit heavy and scratchy, but that as well as the single action pull has smoothed out through use. I routinely carry this pistol in CCW mode, when something a bit larger is impractical. Magazines are plentiful and fairly cheap, running from about $12 to $17 a piece depending upon where you look. The CZ-82 is a bit bigger and heavier, but it carries 12 rounds in the mag. This is an awesome compact piece. I’ve owned and shot a few Makarov designs over the years, but this CZ is much better ergonomically and functionally than any of them.
